Cupcakes for Cancer
“September marks a very important month, it is Cancer awareness month and every year we take part in raising money for children and their families who are in need during chemo therapy treatment.” Kjersti Skanke
Kjersti Skanke, Kevin Clarke’s Goddaughter, was affected by cancer on a very personal level when her son Aksel was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) two weeks before his first birthday. This year Hyvest sponsored 1000 cupcakes to Cupcakes of Hope, which is a non-profit organisation that raises money through the sale of cupcakes. This is a community driven project that donates to 16 different charities including CHOC, CANSA, The Sunflower Fund and many more. Over and above Hyvest, Cupcakes for Hope has had amazing sponsorships, including, Spar, Mr Sport, Mugg n Bean, Defy etc. which sets a shining example of how we can all donate and assist where we can, to help educate and inspire our cancer patients and their service providers nationwide.
Hyvest would like to encourage everyone to give back a little bit and help our little children suffering with cancer. A little goes a long way and changes a child’s life.
